Ode to my Mathematical Economics Professor's Class on a Thursday Afternoon

Thou might be teaching thine students a thousand words of thine expertise
But dost thou never realize how utterly futile the purpose of education is?
Whence comparing our existence to the cosmos beyond the boundaries of all imaginations
Dost not thou comprehend, how entirely insignificant set theory is to the universe?
Dost thou have no inkling that man was created to enjoy His gifts
Not question, ponder and contemplate on them
Why are not thee satisfied that we are able enough to drag our sorry selves to college every day
That thou have to complicate all matters by adding derivable functions to them?
For what does it really matter in our inconsequential lives
That linear functions are odd or even,
When no one will remove the dust from our graves
A hundred years hence?
10 scaly flippers:
Good one, written with a Shakesperean touch(poor Shaky!),and the sentences here are short, sweet, and sarcastically meaningful. It actually doesnt matter whether linear functions are odd or even in OUR inconsequential lives, but it does mean to OTHERS' who are still alive (to haunt their minds and syllabi of course).
PS : There wont be anyone to wipe the dust off my grave, 'coz in all probabilities I wud die a Hindu and wud be cremated. So, no question of a literal grave [;)]
*bangs her head on the table and wonders why she deserves this*
That is true..odd and even functions hardly matter, though I'm quite interested to know what hyperbolic functions are........and I plan to convert to Christianity just before my slow and painful death and have my gravestone inscribed with
"Like A bird on a wire,
Like a drunken ,midnight choir,
I have tried, in my way, to be free"
Or maybe my worldly wealth then won't permit such extravagances..ah well...such is life.......
I know what hyperbolic functions are, too well...believe me, they never changed my life
also, if you really are interested in hyperbolic functions, you will never accumulate enough wordly wealth, go interest yourself in rich heiresses ( what am i saying?)
typo:'why are not *thy satisfied ..'( should be thee)
good work,again.
Thank you again, did not notice that, this, though, is a comparatively recent work, while I was wondering whether Economics could ever lead to a spiritual upliftment i am sorely in need of. Turns out, you end up over eating due to depression, leading to a physical upliftment.
because life needed to be complicated they invented the thing called education....the greatest of the tormentors....so that we all insignificant people die into insignificance n nothing ever becomes significant
yeah, hey swati, lets try being happier
